A year ago, a young woman named Nicole Baukus had at least twenty one drinks during a night out at On the Rox Sports Bar in Montgomery County, then got behind the wheel of her truck and took off down I-45 heading the wrong way. Despite 911 calls by observant and concerned motorists, Baukus slammed head on into a car, killing two teenage passengers and putting the driver in the hospital.
Nicole was sentenced yesterday to 38 years in prison and now sits comfortably in a jail cell, according to ABC 13. However, the TABC, which brought charges against Nicole, isn’t done yet. Scar Williams with the TABC says they’re “…going to try something a little different here…”.
Generally, when there is a case of someone being served too much alcohol at a bar, the bar becomes responsible and faces charges.
