A verdict was finally reached on July 13, where a selection of 6 jurors found George Zimmerman not guilty. The jurors decision was based on proof of Zimmerman’s justifications of him acting in self-defense, which led him to walk away free.
Immediately after the verdict was announced, there was a social media outrage, most of which are Trayvon Martin supporters. The NAACP urged people around the nation to protest in Trayvon’s name and that a civil suit against Zimmerman should be filed for wrongful death.
